Also, today, I went and saw Avatar. Hmmmm. Apparently, the critics liked the first two hours better, but I actually liked the fight scene a lot more than the rest of the movie. The thing is that I could see most of the movie appearing on MST3K...all this obnoxious/snarky commentary kept on popping up in my head, and the dialogue kind of sucked. Some parts of the fight scenes actually really reminded me of Starcraft...ZvT? Especially the scene where those elephant things overran the marines (Ultralisks...?) and the scene where all those giant bird things attacked the planes (Scourge...?). Overall, I had pretty mixed feelings about this movie. Hm. I guess it was worth seeing, though.
Finals went OK. I'm pretty sure I passed all my classes, and that's what matters, I guess. Well, on Monday the 21st, my family and I left Lexington for Florida. By car. It took three days, but at least we escaped from all the cold and snow. The worst part was definitely Northern Virginia...suffice to say that Virginia FAILS at plowing snow. It seemed kind of like they cleared up the absolute minimum and were just waiting for all the snow to melt. Lanes were just covered over by snow, exits were blocked...it wasn't pretty.
Well, after an otherwise uneventful trip, we arrived in Florida. See, we used to live in Florida, so my parents know a lot of places to visit. We visited St. Augustine, Daytona Beach, EPCOT, and SeaWorld. It was nice to go back to these places, since I hadn't visited most of these places since I was about 5. We're sleeping over at a friend's house in Tallahassee right now (the same people who were over at our house in the summer). Right now they're worried because the high tomorrow's going to be only 51 degrees! Gasp?

I was helping somebody with their Media Lab project, which was building Building 10 with gingerbread. Also, for the project, we needed to make sugar glass. Sugar glass is made from mixing water, sugar, corn syrup, and cream of tartar, then bringing that to a boil. At certain different temperatures, the sugar water has different properties, based on the amount of water left. For sugar glass, we needed it to be hard, so we had to bring it up to 300 degrees F. That's the "hard crack" stage (a ball of the sugar water, when dropped in cold water, crystallizes and becomes brittle, used for toffee and lollipops). And. It. Is. Awesome. Behold.
Sharp as hell, too. Apparently, it's used in theater/cinema, since it breaks more readily than glass and is less sharp than broken glass, so the actors don't get hurt.

The guy in the room next to us is blasting music non-stop and having a freaking dance party in his room every night. MAKE IT STOP. (Though when he did stop, it was for non-stop "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston, which I don't think is a preferable fate.)

Guess what class I'm in right now? That's right, chem recitation! Woo...
Thanksgiving break was pretty good, except I didn't get nearly as much work done as I had hoped. Also, note to self: DON'T go to lunch at a mall on Black Friday. Uh-uh. Bad idea. Lan, her brother, Jason, Stephen, Enoch, and I went to Old Country Buffet in Watertown on Black Friday, and the drivers are vicious. Well, it was a good deal, though :D
I managed to get sick twice in the past two weeks. Yay. Mad skillz. ...yeah, I should probably be getting more sleep. Yawn. zzz
That's right, the Korean has gotten himself addicted to Starcraft, yeah yeah, make all those stereotypical jokes (that might be true >_>)...hm. I like Protoss (a.k.a. I started as Protoss and am too lazy to learn another race). Zealots ftw. My Starcraft "mentor" here really likes playing defensively (mass cannons/mass sunkens/terran block), and I think I might be absorbing some bad ideas from him. And at least according to Welkin's blog, people in Lexington have taken to Starcraft...maybe I should play some of you guys sometime. Except I still suck. Tips, anyone?
